Ash Vale is a village in the borough of Guildford in Surrey and the larger, northern settlement of the civil parish of Ash. It is 7 miles from Guildford but is closer to the Hampshire towns of Aldershot and Farnborough, the centres of which are each about two miles away.

Ash Ranges is a 1,392-hectare nature reserve that is useable to the public at certain times. It is owned by the Ministry of Defence and managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust. There is also Snaky Lane Local Nature Reserve and Lakeside Nature Reserve. The Quays in Mytchett welcomes you to take a step into the outdoors and offers kayaking, karting, quad biking, wakeboarding, bush craft, raft building, archery and summer camps.

The Basingstoke Canal Visitor Centre is perfect for family days, exploring the canal or simply relaxing and watching the boats pass by, there is also a children’s trailblazer play area. The Quays Wake and Ski in Mytchett is a wakeboard and water-ski club offering sessions for both beginners and the more advanced. Explore Activity and Education Centre at the Quays in Mytchett welcomes you to take a step into the outdoors and offers kayaking, karting, quad biking, wakeboarding, bush craft, raft building, archery and summer camps.
